Hunting at La-Rochelle
To hunt in Namibia is definitely a very good decision. The landscapes in Namibia vary so much
that you will probably come back more than once. From the moment we pick you up at the
international airport, you will begin to enjoy the changing landscapes en route to La Rochelle,
some 300 miles north.
The hunting area of 20 000 acres is situated east of the well-known Etosha National Park. Rugged
terrain with towering Makalani Palms, thick brush and open plains comprise the area. The so called
Makalani road, an ancient elephant path, passes through the area as well. Reaching from the Okavango
Delta, elephants followed this path for hundreds of years through Bushman Land, the Caprivi and
Zambia, following the natural springs towards the Etosha Pan. As these elephants went along, they
planted these unique palms for miles on end.
At the lodge, huge, hundred year old, wild fig trees stand with their roots in shallow groundwater
and, provide ample shadow. A natural spring runs down into the waterhole close to the main lodge,
and abundant bird life can be enjoyed here.
Accommodation is available in several free-standing structures dispersed across the grounds. Under
the big trees we have 6 en-suite rooms situated around the swimming pool. Two family units and two
double rooms are each covered by the shadow of the big trees.
A private guesthouse with 4 double en-suite rooms stands secluded in the bush. With a private
swimming pool and relaxing area you can truly rest here. Between the private guesthouse and the
main lodge lies the private villa, a thatched, double-story mansion. Two en-suite family units
with two separate beds and a double en suite room are available. The view from the balcony
overlooking the bush gives you the feeling of freedom.
